OBJECTIVES



This advanced experiential and didactic training is designed for EFT-C therapists, supervisors and trainers.

In this couples training you will learn advanced skills to work with challenging issues such as: escalated couples, blocks and interruptions, trauma, difficult emotions, issues of forgiveness and emotional injuries, and alliance ruptures. In addition, the use of experiential teaching and homework is discussed.

TRAINERS


Dr. Serine Warwar (Ph.D., C. Psych.) is the Founder and Director of the Greenberg Institute of Emotion-Focused Therapy and the Centre for Psychology and Emotional Health which is a training centre for: individual, couple, family and group therapy, as well as a satellite training site for the Emotion-Focused Therapy Clinic at York University. She is also the Director of the York University Emotion-Focused Therapy Clinic and is on the board of directors for the International Society for Emotion-Focused Therapy. She is passionately engaged in training, research, and the ongoing the development of EFT. She co-developed an empirically validated EFT program to help couples and individuals resolve emotional injuries and facilitate forgiveness. In addition, her research focuses on improving our understanding of emotional change in therapy. She provides supervision, training, and consultation to graduate students and therapists, and conducts international trainings and workshops on EFT for individuals and couples.


Dr. Rhonda Goldman (Ph.D., C.Psych.) is one of the primary developers of Emotion-Focused Therapy for individuals and couples. She is a Professor at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is actively involved with research, development, and training in EFT. Psychology. She has co-authored six texts on Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), including Deliberate Practice in Emotion-focused therapy (2021) and the Clinical Handbook of Emotion-focused Therapy (2019), Case Formulation in Emotion-focused Therapy (2015), Emotion-focused Couples Therapy (2008), Case Studies in Emotion-focused Therapy (2007), and Learning Emotion-Focused Therapy (2004). She is a founding board member of the International Society of Emotion-focused Therapy (ISEFT). She is currently an action editor of the journal Person-Centered and Experiential Psychotherapies. She runs the Emotion-focused Therapy Institute in Chicago. She travels internationally conducting training workshops for mental health professionals in Emotion-focused therapy for Couples and Individuals.
