ABOUT US

The Centre for Psychology and Emotional Health has been providing the highest standard of evidence-based individual, relationship, family, child & adolescent, and group  therapy since 2003.  Within the Centre,  the Greenberg  Institute of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) is a training institute recognized by the International Society of Emotion-Focused Therapy and provides training and education to therapists interested in learning EFT.

The Centre is also a satellite training centre for the Emotion-Focused Therapy Clinic at York University. Centrally located in downtown Toronto, we are a highly skilled team of clinicians who are committed to helping people make meaningful changes. Our therapists are compassionate, empathic, work collaboratively with you, and provide a safe therapeutic environment. Treatment is personalized and evidence-based as we use our knowledge and expertise to choose the most effective treatments to meet your unique needs.

We treat a wide range of psychological issues. For example, in individual therapy, we will help you deal with difficult, painful, and/or vulnerable emotions and issues, and skillfully work with you to transform them in lasting ways. In addition, if you feel stuck, unmotivated, unfulfilled, or are searching for direction or meaning, we will help you identify goals and work with you to achieve them. If you’re having issues in your relationship, in couple therapy we can help you: deal with conflict and communication issues; feel more connected; improve emotional and physical intimacy; and resolve and forgive emotional injuries.

We are committed to engaging in continuing education, skills training, workshops, and consultation, to ensure our knowledge is up-to-date and that we provide you with the most effective, current, evidence-based therapy for each client. We are knowledgeable and compassionate in providing services to the LGBT2Q+ community and those who are from racialized communities.

Therapy approaches are empirically supported and include: Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy, Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy, Emotion-focused Couples Therapy for Resolving Emotional Injuries, Sex Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Approaches.
