The Greenberg Institute offers small-group EFT video supervision* with Dr. Leslie Greenberg for therapists who want to advance and refine their EFT practice and for those working toward recognition as an EFT Certified Therapist or Supervisor by the International Society for Emotion Focused Therapy (isEFT).

EFT supervision* is based on direct, moment-by-moment review of participants’ video-recorded therapy sessions, allowing for detailed attention to the therapeutic process as it unfolds. Particular attention is given to therapist challenges, clients’ moment-by-moment emotional processes, case formulation, and the micro-skills and micro-interventions that can facilitate emotional processing and change. Participants receive specific feedback on what they are doing in the session, how the client is responding, and how they might intervene differently at key moments in the therapeutic process. onsultation Groups.

EFT Video Supervision* Groups are designed for therapists who want to advance and refine their EFT practice through detailed review of their own and other therapists’ therapy sessions. For clinicians pursuing recognition as an EFT Therapist through the International Society for Emotion Focused Therapy (isEFT), direct video consultation hours can also be applied toward the supervision requirements for certification.

These groups provide opportunities to:

Our consultation groups include both presenters and a limited number of observers. This structure creates a collaborative learning environment in which all participants benefit from seeing a range of clinical cases, therapist challenges, emotional processes, and EFT micro-skills and micro-interventions.

For presenters, the inclusion of observers also helps us keep the cost of receiving video consultation more affordable while maintaining a small-group format and providing each presenter with dedicated opportunities to receive individualized feedback on their own clinical work.

We recognize that presenting therapy video involves sharing sensitive clinical material. All participants, including observers, are clinicians participating in a professional learning environment and are required to maintain the confidentiality of all clinical material presented in the group.

Presenters are required to bring video-recorded clips from their clinical work to receive moment-by-moment feedback from an EFT expert.

Each presenter is guaranteed two opportunities during the 10-session group to present their clinical work and receive direct video consultation. These hours can be applied toward the direct EFT supervision requirements for isEFT certification, subject to isEFT certification criteria.

Presenters also participate in all 10 sessions, providing an opportunity to learn from the consultation of other clinicians. Through exposure to a range of clients and therapeutic processes, participants can deepen their understanding of EFT case formulation, emotional processes, therapist micro-skills and micro-interventions, and the clinical decisions involved in facilitating emotional change.

Clinicians who are not ready to present their own clinical work can join consultation groups as observers at a reduced cost. Observers have an opportunity to learn from colleagues as well as from Dr. Greenberg’s expert feedback, but do not present their own cases or receive direct supervision on their clinical work.

All consultation groups count toward certification with the International Society for Emotion Focused Therapy (isEFT).

The International Society for Emotion Focused Therapy (isEFT) establishes international standards for training and certification in Emotion Focused Therapy.

Clinicians seeking recognition as an EFT Therapist, Level B, are required to complete specified EFT training as well as a minimum of 16 hours of direct EFT supervision.

For certification purposes, direct supervision involves presenting video-recorded therapy and receiving feedback on one’s own clinical work from an approved EFT supervisor. Therefore, only the hours in which a clinician presents and receives direct feedback on their own clinical video can be applied toward the direct supervision requirement.

Participation in a 10-session consultation group does not therefore provide 10 hours of direct supervision for certification. In the standard consultation group, each presenter receives 2 guaranteed hours of direct video consultation that can be applied toward the isEFT supervision requirement.

PLEASE NOTE: For clinicians pursuing certification as EFT therapists (Level B), only the hours in which participants present and receive direct feedback on their own clinical videos count toward supervision requirements. Clinicians pursuing certification as EFT therapists (Level B) must receive at least 16 hours of direct supervision.
