Dr. Victoria Sit has a therapeutic style that is trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and strengths-based, and she strives to create a safe, egalitarian, non-judgmental, and empowering space for clients. She values every person’s right to autonomy and respect, by inviting collaboration and diverse perspectives and experiences into the therapeutic process. She believes it is a privilege to work with clients, and has a genuine commitment to ongoing self-reflection, education, and personal and professional growth.
Dr. Sit primarily works from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy framework, and incorporates interventions from other modalities as appropriate (e.g., Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy skills, mindfulness). She treats a wide range of psychological and emotional concerns, including anxiety and mood concerns, trauma, chronic pain and disability, self-esteem, stress and burnout, relationship difficulties, and life/work transitions.
Dr. Victoria Sit is a registered clinical psychologist. She obtained her PhD in Clinical and Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto. She completed her predoctoral internship at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences in the Traumatic Stress Clinic and Forensics Program, where she worked with individuals experiencing posttraumatic stress disorder and major mental illnesses. She also has extensive experience working at a multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinic with clients coping with disabilities and/or chronic health conditions as a result of physical and/or psychological injuries.
