DR. MARYAM GHOLAMREZAEI, PH.D., C.PSYCH.

Dr. Maryam Gholamrezaei is a registered psychologist who provides evidence-based therapy to individual adults and couples. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselling psychology from McGill University. Her doctoral research focused on self-harming behaviours among ethnic and racial minorities. She has extensive experience providing psychological assessment and treatment in a variety of settings, including hospitals, private clinics, and university counselling centres.


Dr. Gholamrezaei is trained in a number of therapy approaches, including: Emotion-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Insight-oriented therapy. Her approach is integrative, and she practices from an inclusive, trauma informed lens and works with people from diverse backgrounds and identities. She strives to provide a compassionate, respectful, accepting environment for her clients to feel safe and understood so that they can make meaningful and lasting changes.


Dr. Gholamrezaei works with a number of issues including but not limited to: social anxiety, generalized anxiety, self-esteem, self-criticism, shame, perfectionism, procrastination, depression, grief, PTSD, childhood trauma, and relationship difficulties. In addition, she helps couples deepen their emotional connection and communicate more effectively, as well as de-escalate their conflicts so they can engage in the deeper work to resolve their issues. In addition, she works with infidelity and helps couples resolve emotional injuries using an Emotion-Focused, evidence-based approach.


As she values continuing education and personal development, Dr. Gholamrezaei is actively engaged in ongoing training and education groups.


Dr. Gholamrezaei provides services in both English and Farsi.
