Dr. Siegal is a registered clinical and health psychologist. Dr. Siegal earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from York University. In addition to her private practice work, Dr. Siegal works part time at Toronto General Hospital at the GoodHope Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Clinic, as well as the Transitional Pain Service. In this context, Rachel provides psychotherapy and is engaged in program development as well as research and supervision. 


Dr. Siegal has worked in many settings in the past including the Frederick W. Thompson Anxiety Disorders Centre, where she was involved in research projects aimed at better understanding the genetic correlates of OCD and related disorders. She has also worked at Toronto Metropolitan University where she was involved in a clinical trial examining treatments for Social Anxiety Disorder. She completed her pre-doctoral residency at the Waterloo Region Psychology Consortium and has completed practical at the Toronto Western Bariatric Surgery Clinic and the York University Psychology Clinic.


Dr. Siegal has experience providing both psychotherapy and assessment services to adults in areas related to depression, adjustment disorders, stress, self-esteem, coping skills, life transition, relationship issues, anxiety, complex trauma, OCD and related disorders, eating disorders and the management of chronic illness and pain. Dr. Siegal uses an integrative therapy approach that is trauma informed. She strives to create a warm and collaborative environment that is authentic and genuine. Her aim is to create a safe place where her clients feel accepted and are comfortable to process their emotional pain. She draws on her training and experience in evidence-based interventions including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. She integrates these approaches to most effectively meet the unique needs of each client, carefully considering the client’s goals and presenting difficulties.
